A Tahoe Style Wedding

Krista and Bryce’s wedding took place on a blustery day in October. For these Tahoe locals, they decided to have their ceremony and cocktail hour in the forest behind Krista’s parent’s home in Carnelian Bay with a Gar Woods Fall Wedding reception to follow. Everything about their wedding was effortless and carefree much like their oh-so-sweet relationship.

I am still swooning over her Tom’s wedge wedding shoes that Krista wore. They were the perfect complement to her dress and her surroundings. The bouquet looked as if she had gone out into the forest and collected the beautiful arrangement herself. Such beauty and simplicity in this!

All of Krista’s best friends carried an embroidered handkerchief with their wedding dates on it… kind of like a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants but for weddings:-) Such a truly beautiful tradition.

We really enjoyed how all of the wedding attire complimented the natural scenery. The men looked amazing in their vests that matched the forested backdrop perfectly.

They opted for a first look wedding photo which was not complete without their adorable pup Bango. So nice to be able to have all of the family photos done before the ceremony leaving Krista and Bryce plenty of time to enjoy their moments together.

The details in their wedding were so sweet and so very Tahoe!! The pine cone path leading into the ceremony was perfect

They choose to have a memory lane of photos amongst the trees. Their guests were able to check them out on their way into the ceremony. A very sweet tribute to their journey together and the new one to start. Such an intimate setting in which their loved ones gathered around them in a semi-circle for the ceremony.

The ceremony included a tying of the knot which is completely appropriate considering they are both avid rock climbers. I LOVE this idea.

Immediately following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour right at the forest’s edge and we didn’t have to go very far to find amazing photo locations for some happy couple photos.

Then we set off for the reception at Gar Woods which as always this location is pure magic!!

The bluegrass band that they chose really got everyone up and moving throughout the evening. There is just something about having a live band at a wedding that makes you want to party!!
