For a day of Halloween fun before the big event (trick or treatin) I took my daughter and went to downtown Pleasanton to meet some friends. We first enjoyed a pirate magic and puppet show put on at Your Stage Toys by Captn Jack Spareribs. What a fun show it was! The audience was captivated by the performance kids and adults alike. Your Stage Toys is an adorable and unique toy store in the heart of downtown Pleasanton that offers unique toys to serve any child’s active imagination. We then headed over and completed a Halloween scavenger hunt put on by the local merchants. Good times!
Captn Jack Spareribs kept the crowd captivated with a blend of mystery and magic.
From TP to a colored chain of paper…I never understood
how magic worked but I enjoyed watching it:0)
There were no shortage of volunteers when Captn Jack asked for assistance from the crowd.
One thing I know about Pirate’s…they love money!
Who doesn’t enjoy a pirate with a monkey who speaks. Arrr matey.
After the show, the Downtown Pleasanton Association put together a
spooky scavenger hunt so my friend and I took the girls on an adventure complete with treasure map.
The first stop on the hunt was at Me and my Friend’s Cafe where they had a activity for the kiddos.
Must say I didn’t realize how competitive I could be while on this hunt:0)
We finished close to first….(even though there was no “real competition”)
All in all, a really fun day was had by all in Downtown Pleasanton and the kids got
an early start on filling up their bags with sweets. Yes the local merchant’s gave out
candy at every stop along the way:0) Yum!
After much running around, I learned a valuable lesson: “wedges were a bad idea”.
