Rory + Lauren

Lauren and Rory met while she was in school down in San Luis Obispo. Rory by far has the most go to guy kind of engagement story that we have heard in our years of engagement stories. Rory actually painted “will you marry me” on white bed sheets and placed them on top of a house….to understand the magnitude of this task, is to understand just how much Rory loves Lauren. Rory then took Lauren on a plane flight and just happened over the home. As the story goes… these two are completely head over heals in love and Rory has made it hard for his guy friends to ever out do an engagement proposal like this one.

If you live up in the Bay Area, then you know how much it’s been raining lately. Not the kind of rain that falls light either…the kind that cat’s and dogs fall out of the sky kind of rain. So imagine how lucky we are that this past Saturday, the sky dried up long enough to meet up with Lauren and Rory for their engagement session at Mills College in Oakland, CA. If you have never been to this campus….GO there…check it out…I want desperately to go back with a picnic basket and perhaps a bottle of vino. Maybe when the grass dries out?

uh…blue door and blue eyes….fantasticly gorgeous!

Their body language was so natural together….no instructions required.

The arches made for a beautiful composition. Thanks to Lauren and Rory for choosing such a visually stimulating spot to photograph in.

Couldn’t help but notice the mood lighting in this little nook and cranny. Love the Moroccan style light fixture.

This just might be my favorite from the day….have to admit that it is Josh’s shot…damn him and hot damn:0)

um…hello very cool door. This door rocks the Casbah for sure.

Since the invention of the kiss there have been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind“….Princess Bride 1987

Lauren you are beautiful!

Josh sees it this way….

p.s….the bells were ringin for us:0) Julia Morgan designed this bell tower…simply beautiful.

I saw it this way…tamato, tomato, patato, potato….I love how we can see the same scene so differently.

Family photo time….Meet Dakota their super cute and friendly pup…his fur felt like velvet.

What a perfect day we had photographing and spending time with you Lauren and Rory! Can’t wait for your wedding in May.

January 29, 2010 - 1:22 pm Shannon - Wow.....WOW! I am amazed. Those are some beautiful shots, and you captured the two of them so well. Now I have to figure out how to work myself and my family into as many wedding pics as possible :)

January 29, 2010 - 12:37 pm Blue Lotus Photography - Thanks ladies:0) It was such a fantastic day of photographing and Lauren and Rory you both made our job easy and fun:0) Alessa....were pretty darn sure you will be a gorgeous bridesmaid...can't wait to meet you!

January 29, 2010 - 12:27 pm Alessa - These are unbelievable!! So beautiful, I'm in total awe ;-) Can't wait for the wedding now, let's just hope I can turn out half as pretty in some of the shots,as one of the bridesmaids, hehe.

January 29, 2010 - 9:10 am Lauren - Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh! I'm stuck at an airport trying to get home now with a couple canceled flights, and I think everyone is looking at me funny because I have the silliest, geekiest smile on my face! Wow, I couldn't be more thrilled. Can't wait for Rory to wake up and see these images. We couldn't have chosen anyone better. Thank you :-)

"Golden Gate at Night"

Nick + Linn Dee= A Fall Wedding at the Mountain Winery

XYZ_9035

St.Puis Church is a hidden Gem in Redwood City. The Ceremony was held here and was a

quick drive to the Mountain Winery. Nick told us he grew up a few houses down the street and was an Alter Boy here.

weddingphotographerpleasanton

Our beautiful bride Linn Dee getting ready. I might have mentioned in the past but, I have this thing for peep toe shoes

and they make lovely guest appearances at many weddings.

bayareaweddingphotographer

The Lighting was really Captivating in the room. Can’t beat natural light no matter how hard you try.

When you catch the right moment in the right light the stars align and the universe stands still if only for a moment.

DOG_0697

Rainbows from the Stain Glass windows helped to welcome their family and friends.

Sweet angles:0)

weddingphotography

Sometimes church’s are so dark…especially Catholic ones, so imagine our glee when we saw the amazing light.

Linn Dee was simply glowing and it appears that the light is carrying her down the aisle.

P&S1067

weddings

Everything really came together in this church to make for some of the most breathtaking scenes we had seen in a long time.

We felt really inspired by all the symmetry and lines. When you really think about it, who wouldn’t like a

rainbow filled aisle on their wedding day? Not to mention that we think reflection pics rock!

P&S1099

livermoreweddingphotographer

The kiss….the two angles are only one reason why we insist upon having two of us to document the day.

sanfranciscoweddingphotographer

If only it would have been appropriate to shoot some photos in here of the bride and groom in the alter room….we wouldn’t have

hesitated although our respect for the church told us it was the wrong thing to do. Happily though we caught a few in the moment ones…

Seriously though the stain glass in this church was AMAZING.

DOG_1013

Fall finery at it’s best. The fall colors in the vines are so breath takingly beautiful this time of year.

DOG_1061

Linn Dee is totally owning it in this photo. You both look amazing!

Little Skyler is such a sweet soul. So helpful and wonderful on her daddy’s wedding day.

We had SO much fun with Linn Dee and Nick. They were both so easy to photograph and very laissez-faire about the whole experience.

Walking down to the Mountain Winery from the parking lot, a passerby on the way out commented on how

Linn Dee’s dress was draging and how it should be picked up so it wouldn’t get dirty.

Linn Dee took it all with a grain of salt and  wasn’t worried about it one bit…

Carpe diem.

mountainwinery

The fall colors brought such warmth and understated elegance to the room.

escortcards

Super cute idea of the clothespins on the name cards added to the decor.

P&S655

Such a cool idea to have a caricature artist at your wedding. Guest were loving this and had a personal

touch to take home at the end of the evening.

DOG_1587

What a sweet and touching moment when Linn Dee’s parents sang to her and Nick.

Her parents are so cute….I wonder if they are willing to adopt us.

bluelotusweddingphotography

These vintage cake toppers immediately caught my eye and we learned that Linn Dee’s parents had used the very same ones on their wedding day.

Timeless details like these never go out of style.

P&S1876

Skyler had her very own cake to cut too…lucky girl:0)

weddingphotosmountainwinery

The kids were included into their first dance too.

P&S1922

These two are big baseball fans. Her team is the Angels and he is all for the Giant’s. Just a little friendly rivalry…

only appropriate that when Nick went to take the garter off…Surprise! It was an Angel’s garter….he…he..

P&S1904

So cute when the itty bitty’s come out for the bouquet toss. Skyler was the lucky

one due to a timely and spot on throw by Linn Dee.

DOG_1766

YAY. That’s right. The guests were rockin out! Such a fun group of people all gathered

together to celebrate Linn Dee and Nick’s love for each other.

P&S1993

Live bands make for such a great atmosphere throughout the evening and this one was no exception to that rule.

The music really got the group up and moving. The singer was in the crowd pumping everyone up. So much fun!

DOG_1792

Us at the end of the night with our bff and art director for the day:0)

What an amazing experience it was working with these two and their family and friends.

When we initially met with Linn Dee and Nick, they had told us they didn’t want anything other then a

big party and for their friends and family to have a great time.

We think the day went off without a hitch or a care in the world. The feeling of love and happiness

was ever present throughout the entire day.

We honestly couldn’t say enough nice things about everyone from this wonderful day.

Thank you SO much…we are so blessed to have a job where we get to meet such wonderful people

and have such a great time…Not to mention the fact that it is always such an honor to document such a special day.

As always we’d love to hear your comments and feedback. Please feel free to drop us a line:0)

November’s Feature Couple: David + Beth

Wedding season’s shooting is starting to take a break for us for the holidays and so

we thought we would add a monthly feature about a fun couple.

So without any further ado…Meet David and Beth. Beth&Dave105

Beth&Dave032

We met for an early morning stroll through Downtown Pleasanton and

all of the photographic opportunities were at their best.

Beth&Dave023

Did I mention that day how much I love Beth’s sandals? Super cute right?

Makes me remember that sandal season is beyond us now…sniff..sniff

This shot is the one they chose to enlarge….great choice we must agree!

Beth&Dave054

Within one block there are so many colorful scenes. The Blue Agave Club being a prime example.

Beth&Dave091

So which camera are we looking at? It’s super fun when Sandra and I are both “in the zone.”

Beth&Dave098“Camera 1″ “Camera 2.” Beth&Dave013

Who knew Pleasanton had such great little nooks and crannys…i.e..this side alley way made for a nice backdrop.

Beth&Dave109

Something about big full trees and a fish eye lens..sigh

We had a really fun morning with Beth & David….well more of a day as it actually turned into afternoon by the time we were finished.

Time flies when you’re having fun.

Flash Forward to their wedding day at Martinelli Event Center in Livermore.

Pecoraro204

Pecoraro007

I really like the way the escort cards looked and how they incorporated the design into their theme.

Spoiler alert….the cake topper and table cards had this design as well.
